Last month was Global Volunteer Month, a time to recognize people who actively support their communities through volunteerism. At CNO, we are engaged and active in working to build stronger communities in the places where we live and work.
“CNO supports our communities, our associates and our customers through nonprofit organizations that address the health and financial wellness of middle-income Americans,” said Elizabeth Kinder, director, community relations. “It has been especially uplifting over this past year to see CNO associates use our Giving Back Days volunteer opportunities to reunite with colleagues in-person all while making a difference in their communities.”
In 2022, CNO helped deliver approximately $2.6 million in total community impact value from the philanthropic efforts of the company, its associates, and insurance agents. This includes corporate donations through tax credit scholarship programs, corporate donations to nonprofit organizations, donations from associates, and community fundraising. Additionally, more than 800 CNO associates volunteered 10,500 hours to their local communities, including taking part in the company's annual CNO Giving Back Days community service projects in its six corporate locations and virtually.
Making a positive social impact is deeply rooted in our culture. Our associate volunteer program, Team CNO, has provided opportunities for associate community engagement for more than 20 years. Our Team CNO volunteers take part in more than 12 signature community service events each year. This includes our CNO Giving Back Days, offered in the spring and fall, Holiday Giving program and Invested in Giving Back® program where associates nominate and vote for community programs to receive CNO charitable donations.
