CHICAGO, Jan. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bankers Life and Casualty Company presented a wounded soldier and his family with keys to their new, mortgage-free home, as the primary sponsor in a program supported by the Military Warriors Support Foundation.
In partnership with Military Warriors Support Foundation and Chase Bank, the five-bedroom, 3,000 square foot home in Henderson, Nevada, was renovated for Todd Fahn, his fiance and two-year-old son. Fahn was previously a U.S. Army Squad Leader participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom when he sustained injuries in 2005 and 2007. The Bankers donation will be used specifically for a three-year financial and family mentoring program for the Fahns, and upon successful completion of the course the home's title will be transferred.
"Bankers Life is proud to give back to those who have served our nation as members of the military," said Scott Perry, president of Bankers Life, the national life and health insurer. "The Military Warriors Support Foundation is doing great work in increasing awareness of the needs of injured service members, and we're grateful for the opportunity to be part of this project and for giving Mr. Fahn and his family the support they deserve."
The Military Warriors Support Foundation was founded in 2007 by retired Lieutenant General Leroy Sisco, and is focused on awarding wounded heroes with mortgage-free homes, connecting veterans and companies with employment opportunities, providing four-year degree scholarships, offering mentoring and recreational programs, and providing financial planning counseling.
"Bankers Life and Casualty Company is in the business of changing lives, and working with the Military Warriors Support Foundation allows them the opportunity to change the lives of many wounded heroes and their families," said Lt. Gen. Sisco. "Our Foundation and the heroes we support cannot thank this organization enough for their hearts, passion and commitment to change people's lives."
