CARMEL, Ind., Oct. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CNO Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: CNO) announced that Blake Westerfield has joined the company as Vice President, Product Management, Worksite Health and Specified Disease.  He reports to Dick Garner, Senior Vice President of Product Management, Health.

Westerfield joins CNO from Guarantee Trust Life where he served as Chief Actuary.  Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Celtic Insurance Group holding several positions including Chief Operating Officer, where he was responsible for day-to-day operations, profitability and growth of the insurance group's operating units, and Chief Actuary and Chief Administration Officer, where he was responsible for the overall management, strategic planning and personnel development of the actuarial, legal/regulatory and operations areas.

Westerfield earned a BS in actuarial science from the University of Illinois, and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.  He is an associate of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
