Carmel, Ind., July 25, 2005 - Conseco, Inc. (NYSE:CNO) today announced that it has engaged Banc of America Securities LLC and J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. to act as lead arrangers and joint bookrunners in connection with the amendment of its existing $767 million senior secured Credit Agreement. The amendment is expected to provide for, among other things, a reduction in the principal amount of the facility to $475 million through the application of proceeds of additional indebtedness, a reduction in the interest spread on the term loan, relaxed financial covenants and increased flexibility to enter into capital markets transactions.
