Carmel, Ind., November 6, 2007: Conseco, Inc. (NYSE:CNO) today announced that Mark E. Billingsley has joined the company as senior vice president, health valuation. Billingsley is responsible for managing valuation, modeling and financial projections for long-term care and other supplemental health insurance products at all subsidiary insurance companies.
Mark Alberts, executive vice president and chief actuary for Conseco, Inc., said, “We are pleased to welcome Mark to our leadership team. With his great depth of health product experience, Mark will fill a key open position and further strengthen our financial management of these core product lines.”
Billingsley brings to his new role more than 25 years of actuarial experience. He joins Conseco from Great American Financial Resources, Inc., where he served for two years as executive vice president and chief actuary of the Ceres Group subsidiary. While there, Billingsley rebuilt the actuarial department and managed the actuarial appraisal process for the sale of Ceres Group to Great American.
From 2002-2005, Billingsley worked with Great American Financial Resources, Inc., serving as senior vice president and chief actuary of United Teacher Associates. Prior to that, he served as chief actuary for 12 years with Pyramid Life Insurance Company of Mission, Kansas.
Billingsley received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), and has earned the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI).
