November 13, 2007 (CHICAGO, ILL.) – David E. Nelson has joined Bankers Life and Casualty Company, Chicago, as Senior Vice President, National Sales.
The 20-year insurance industry veteran, who comes to Bankers from a similar role at Guardian Life, has served in a variety of capacities at Manulife Financial, Principal Financial Group and Connecticut General/CIGNA.
“As a key position in our organization, David’s breadth of experience and leadership will be a great asset to Bankers as we continue to build upon our career distribution model,” said Scott Perry, President of Bankers.
At Bankers, Nelson will be responsible for leading the nationwide field organization – comprising 4,400 agents in 160 branches and 65 satellite offices – and also for Bankers Learning Network, the primary training resource for field agents and managers.
Nelson holds a B.A. in Economics and an MBA in Accounting from the University of Arizona. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Mutual Fund Consultant, and a Life Underwriter Training counsel Fellow.
