CARMEL, Ind., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Conseco, Inc. (NYSE: CNO) announced that Grace E. M. Cowan will join the company as senior vice president of operations, effective October 27. She will report to Russ Bostick, Conseco's executive vice president of technology and operations. Her responsibilities at Conseco will include policyholder service, claims, consumer relations, and output and records management.
Ms. Cowan, 49, most recently served as senior vice president and national director of Aon Consulting's life, disability and elective benefits practice. Previously she served eight years at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as senior vice president of customer service, underwriting and operations. At MetLife, she was accountable for the company's interactions with 57,000 groups and 40 million individual customers. A licensed attorney, she has 25 years of experience in health care and health insurance, including four years as chief operating officer for Chicago Health System and 13 years with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois.

Ms. Cowan earned a B.S. degree in business from Northern Illinois University, and a J.D. degree from the University of Iowa. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
