Carmel, Ind. May 21, 2007 — The Conseco insurance group today announced that William R. Breshears, HIA, has been named director of group underwriting for Conseco Worksite. In this position, Breshears is responsible for providing underwriting leadership for all product lines sold via payroll deduction to employer groups, including group and individual products.
Breshears brings more than 25 years of underwriting experience to his new role at Conseco. Most recently he was with American United Life (AUL) Insurance Company of Indianapolis, Indiana, where he served as assistant vice president of group underwriting. In this role, Breshears was responsible for management of the new business underwriting, medical underwriting and renewal support units.
Before AUL, Breshears was with Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company, (which was acquired by the company now known as Assurant Employee Benefits). At Mutual Benefit, he served in positions within the underwriting and accounting fields. Breshears went on to manage underwriting for large employer groups, associations and affinity groups.
Breshears reports to Dennis Willard, vice president of worksite operations. “Bill’s extensive experience with group underwriting will be a tremendous asset to our operations team, as we continue to grow the Conseco Worksite division. Bill will play an integral role in our development of competitive products and will help us deliver on our goal of first-in-class service for our distribution partners and employer group customers.??
