Carmel, Ind., July 31, 2006 (Corrected August 1, 2006): Conseco, Inc. (NYSE:CNO) today announced that Mike Johnson has joined the company as vice president, information technology risk management.
“Mike’s strong background in operational risk management, as well as his prior experience with both information technology and insurance operations, makes him a strong addition to our team,?? said Russ Bostick, Conseco’s Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. “His diverse background will further integrate IT risk management into the daily operation of Conseco’s business.??
As vice president, Johnson is primarily responsible for enterprise information security, business continuity, the IT interface for SOX compliance, internal audit and regulatory examinations, and the implementation of privacy initiatives. He will also chair Conseco’s Security Council and act as Corporate HIPAA Security Officer.
Johnson joins Conseco from Chase Insurance (now Protective Life), a U.S. life insurance company. He spent 13 years in IT positions including director of operational risk management, vice president of service operations and vice president of information technology. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at IBM in various IT roles. Johnson holds a BA in economics from the University of Illinois, a management certificate from Loyola University, and is enrolled in the MBA program at DePaul University.
