Carmel, Ind. May 24, 2006 — The Conseco insurance group (CIG) announced that Patrick R. Lewis has joined the company as senior vice president, life sales. He is responsible for driving sales of the company’s life insurance products by independent distributors. He reports to CIG Sales EVP Brad Corbin.

Lewis brings more than 35 years of insurance industry experience to his new role at Conseco. He began his insurance career in 1968 as an agent for Northwestern National Life Insurance Company, and was promoted to sales director in 1990. He served five years in this position, where he was responsible for recruiting MGAs.
Lewis was promoted to various sales leadership roles after Northwestern National Life, which became ReliaStar and was acquired by ING. Most recently he served as sales vice president, strategic distribution. During his tenure with ReliaStar and ING, Lewis was responsible for building profitable distribution channels and promoting the sale of life insurance products among independent producers. As an ING sales leader, Lewis built profitable regional offices and consistently increased agent commissions through successful agent recruitment.
Lewis attended the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and serves on the board of directors for the Walker Methodist Foundation in Minneapolis.
