Carmel, Ind. January 18, 2006 -- The Conseco Insurance Group (CIG) announced that Barbara S. Stewart has joined the company as senior vice president, CIG strategic planning.
Stewart reports to CIG President Mike Dubes. “Barb brings an extensive background in strategic planning and marketing, and she is recognized as an industry leader in broker-dealer management,?? said Dubes. “Her skills and experience will help us identify new business opportunities for CIG—particularly in the broker-dealer channel. Barb will coordinate our planning activities within the Conseco enterprise strategic planning framework to facilitate our short- and long-term strategic goals.??
Stewart has more than 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Most recently she was employed by H&R Block Financial Advisors as vice president of strategic development. From 2001 - 2003, she served as president of Washington Square Securities, Inc., a broker-dealer affiliated with ReliaStar Life Insurance Company.
From 1985 - 2001, Stewart served in various sales management and corporate reengineering positions at American Express Financial Advisors.
Stewart earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and an MBA in marketing and finance from the Johnson School at Cornell University. She holds NASD Series 7, 24 and 66 licenses and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. Stewart is a licensed insurance agent in the state of Kansas and has served as a member of the Kansas City Financial Planning Association.
