Carmel, Ind. December 12, 2005 -- Conseco, Inc., announced that Mitchel D. Schulz has been named vice president of compensation and administration. Schulz is responsible for compensation, payroll and HR systems for Conseco, Inc. and its insurance subsidiaries. He reports to Sue Menzel, executive vice president of human resources.
Before joining Conseco, Schulz was employed by Sears Holdings Corporation for nearly 18 years. At Sears, he served in various internal audit and compensation roles for Allstate Insurance (a Sears subsidiary) and the Sears holding company. Most recently at Sears, Schulz served as director of compensation, where he was responsible for compensation programs for Sears and its subsidiary companies.
Schulz holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Augustana College. He is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI), and has earned the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designations.
