CHICAGO, June 29, 2017 –CNO Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: CNO) today announced that Matt Brown, Senior Director of Product Approval and Compliance at CNO’s Chicago office, is the recipient of a 2017 National Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service by an Employee, one of only two honorees nationwide.
The Jefferson Awards Foundation, the nation’s most prestigious and longest-standing organization dedicated to powering and celebrating public service, honored Brown for his dedication and selfless work with the Alzheimer’s Association, the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
A tenacious supporter, Brown has held multiple seats with the Alzheimer’s Greater Illinois Chapter for the last six years including board member, Executive Committee member, Chair of the Finance Committee, Community Grant Task Force member and Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team Captain. Brown also serves as an advocate, joining with others across the nation to persuade Congress to make Alzheimer’s disease a national priority. Outside the chapter, Brown annually holds an “Ales for Alzheimer’s” fundraiser which combines his passions for cooking and brewing beer with his vision for a world without Alzheimer’s.
He is also an avid volunteer in the company’s signature fundraiser to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, Bankers Life Forget Me Not Days, which has raised more than $4.5 million for care, education, and research programs.
