CNO Stories
Get up to speed on the latest news, stories and insights from CNO – from company announcements to a peek into the company culture to profiles of our team in action.
Black History Month is an annual celebration to showcase the achievements of African Americans and a time to recognize the important role of African Americans in our shared national journey.
This month, we’ll come together to celebrate African American contributions to our country – scholarship, business, the arts and sciences, politics, culture, entertainment and all aspects of American life.
Here at CNO, we have much to be proud of our progress toward an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, celebrates and values the diverse voices and backgrounds of our associates, agents and customers. We bring this mission to life when we host educational events through our business resource groups (BRGs) and through service to our communities, including our recent donation to the African American Alliance of CDFI CEOs.
Black History Month presents a good opportunity to reaffirm our shared commitment to our CNO values. We stand against hatred, racism, and violence and are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, equitable environment for all. When we are confronted by challenging and tragic real-world events, our values bring us together. Below are a few ways you can get involved:
- Attend a S.O.U.L. Business Resource Group (BRG) event during Black History Month
- Learn more about diverse perspectives by taking a free LinkedIn Learning class
- Join a BRG
- Support one of our community service partners or participate in Spring and Fall Giving Back Days
- Be a diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) advocate on your team
In this light, Black History Month is not just history, it’s a call to action. On behalf of CNO’s executive leadership team, I ask each of you to consider how you can contribute to a more diverse, equitable, stronger, and successful CNO.
Let’s work together so that at CNO we are both celebrating the past while also making an impact in our communities and workplace.
Regards,
Eric R. Johnson, Chief Investment Officer and President, 40|86 Advisors, Inc.
