Alzheimer's Association and Bankers Life Unite in the Fight Against Alzheimer's
Indiana Pacers fans go purple for "Forget Me Not Days" kickoff at Bankers Life Fieldhouse March 28

INDIANAPOLIS, March 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter and Bankers Life, a national life and health insurance brand of CNO Financial Group, are teaming up for the annual Bankers Life Forget Me Not Days event, "Alzheimer's Awareness Night," on Tuesday, March 28, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse during the Indiana Pacers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves game.

The first 5,000 fans will receive Forget-Me-Not flower seed packets to plant in memory or in honor of someone with dementia, courtesy of Bankers Life and CNO Financial Group. Information about Alzheimer's disease will be shared throughout the evening, and attendees can purchase limited-edition purple cotton candy at the event; for each sale, Bankers Life will donate $1 to the Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter.

"With more than 110,000 Hoosiers affected by Alzheimer's, efforts to fund critical care and support programs in our community are as important as ever," said Bruce Baude, executive vice president, chief operations and technology officer of CNO Financial Group, and board president of the Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter. "Alzheimer's Awareness Night kicks off our 15th annual Bankers Life Forget Me Not Days fundraising campaign, bringing the community together to remember those who lost their lives to the disease, and to raise money to support the association's mission for Alzheimer's care, education and research."

The event coincides with the recent release of the Alzheimer's Association 2017 Alzheimer's Disease Facts and Figures report, which includes national statistics and information on Alzheimer's disease, as well as the impact of Alzheimer's on individuals, families, government and the nation's health care system.

"Every 66 seconds, someone in the U.S. develops Alzheimer's," said Leah Shattuck, communications director of the Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter. "We appreciate the support of Bankers Life and CNO Financial Group for their remarkable efforts to raise funds and awareness of Alzheimer's disease, which helps provide care and education for affected families in our community."

Since 2003, Bankers Life has supported the Alzheimer's Association with more than $4.5 million for care, education and research programs, including collecting and donating more than $450,000 last year alone.
