Conseco Hires Meg Newman as Vice President

Carmel, Ind. October 6, 2005 -- Conseco, Inc., announced that Margaret M. Newman has been named vice president, human resources. In this position, Newman is responsible for leadership of all human resource generalist and recruitment activities for Conseco, Inc. and its insurance subsidiaries. She reports to Sue Menzel, executive vice president of human resources.

Newman has been a human resources professional for more than 15 years. Before joining Conseco, she served for eight years in various HR roles with Sears, Roebuck & Company. Most recently she provided HR leadership as senior human resource director of corporate center functions. Prior to Sears, Newman worked in the manufacturing industry as a human resources professional.

Newman earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a master’s degree in liberal arts from the University of Wisconsin. She graduated with honors with both degrees. Newman is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
