CNO Director Robert C. Greving Named to NACD Directorship 100

Carmel, Ind., August 1, 2017—CNO Financial Group Director Robert C. Greving has been named to the National Association of Corporate Directors’ (NACD) 2017 Directorship 100 list, which honors the most influential leaders in the boardroom and corporate governance community.

“We’re thrilled that Bob is being honored as one of the best in the industry,” said Ed Bonach, CEO of CNO. “Bob consistently demonstrates value with his wide-ranging expertise of trends and practices that define exemplary audit and corporate governance in his service to CNO’s Board. The insight he brings from his extensive business experience is invaluable as we drive towards long-term stakeholder value.”

Greving joined CNO’s Board of Directors in 2011 and serves as chair of the Audit and Enterprise Risk Committee and as a member of the Executive and Investment Committees. He is the retired executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief actuary for Unum Group, and has held senior positions with several other insurers. Greving has served on various non-profit boards, including a current term with the CHI Memorial Health Care System, Memorial Hospital. He also is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.

Nominees are evaluated in four key categories: integrity, mature confidence, informed judgment, and high-performance standards. An independent selection committee reviews each nominee’s history of advancing board performance and leading corporate-governance practices in accordance with established NACD principles in areas such as risk oversight, corporate strategy, compensation and transparency.

"Bob’s inclusion on the NACD Directorship 100 is a prestigious honor and an extraordinary achievement," said Neal Schneider, Chairman of CNO’s Board of Directors. “His leadership in the boardroom, along with his unwavering commitment to truthfulness, fairness and clarity, exemplify the true spirit of good corporate governance and sets a standard of excellence for all board members. We congratulate him on this honor and thank him for his dedication and hard work on behalf of CNO’s shareholders."
